Your gift to the Ottawa Therapy Dogs Endowment Fund is an investment that helps to make sure good dogs continue to do great work in the future. An endowment fund ensures that OTD has the financial resources required to plan ahead, in order to be a strong and healthy organization for the next generations.

Established in 2019 with a generous legacy gift from the Estate of Mrs. Beryl Montgomery, the Ottawa Therapy Dogs Endowment Fund is managed by the The Ottawa Community Foundation. The Ottawa Community Foundation is a public, non-profit organization created by and for the people of Ottawa. It connects donors who care with causes that matter and serves as a trusted resource for addressing issues and leveraging opportunities in the community. It attracts and manages a growing endowment, the invested earnings of which provide grants to charitable organizations.

You may direct a gift to the Ottawa Therapy Dogs Endowment Fund through The Ottawa Community Foundation.

“Remarkably, OTD experienced great momentum after receiving a generous legacy gift in 2018 from the Estate of Mrs. Beryl Montgomery. According to The Perley and Rideau Veteran Health Centre Foundation who also received a significant gift along with other local charities, Beryl and her late husband Clifton Montgomery: “had no children but loved animals and dogs – in particular their pet chihuahua Chico.” This substantial bequest enabled OTD to create an Endowment Fund through the Community Foundation of Ottawa and has moved the needle significantly on cultivating the financial resources required to build our capacity.” Jill Sullivan, Interim Chair and Lainie Towell, Executive Director (2019)
