Ottawa Therapy Dogs promotes an understanding of the values and benefits (enhanced physical, emotional and communication abilities) of the animal-human bond by offering a mutually beneficial and safe interaction with companion animals.
Ottawa Therapy Dogs Inc. is a volunteer-based organization providing animal-assisted activities and therapy with our members' registered therapy dogs. We are a registered charity serving the National Capital Region. To find out more about our organization, see About OTD.
Our Web site is for everyone, but we've organized it to serve the needs of our clients, members and supporters — both current and prospective. Information for and about these groups of people (and dogs!) is found under the headings Programs, Members and Supporters. Our Resource Centre includes stories about OTD, our OTD Newsletter and newsletter archive, downloadable forms, and a links page connecting to other groups interested in therapy animals and the human-animal bond.

2010 Scotiabank WALK ROLL & RUN FOR ROGER’S HOUSE - Sunday June 20, 2010
OTD teams participated in the annual WW&R for Roger's House, hosted by the Sens Foundation. Roger's House provides paediatric respite and palliative care programs for children and their families living and coping with life limiting illnesses. OTD has 4 teams visiting during the week and on weekends.
The WW&R is a non-competitive event for families, friends, neighbours, classmate, organizations and teams to raise money for Roger's House, the charity of choice of the Sens Foundation. There was lots going on besides the 2k and 5k walk/runs which several of our dogs enjoyed. Lily, miniature daschund far outstripped Bro, big golden retriever. Our dogs attracted LOTS of attention and were very popular with the hundreds of children who came to pet and admire. A highlight of the day was Natalie and Caleb's agility demonstration- they are good and the kids loved it!
