Buddy is my sweet little Sheltie who has been sharing his warm and fuzzy personality with residents at various facilities around Ottawa for the past seven years. Even as a puppy Buddy was calmer and gentler than any other dog I have had, and I knew he had a calling when he cuddled into the arms of my elderly mother-in-law. When I saw her face light up with joy as she petted him and he nuzzled closer, I decided that this was what Buddy was meant to do. Wherever we visit, people never fail to comment on how beautiful Buddy is. He has endless patience and only exhibits a dark side when confronted by his nemesis –the evil squirrel. Seeing the joy that Buddy brings to people always brightens up my day, and as such we are currently training another puppy to become a therapy dog, as a back up and successor for Buddy when he retires.
