Ottawa Physiotherapy Race
Sunday morning April 18, 2010
OTD members and dogs are invited to join physiotherapy colleagues and other rehab professionals for this annual fundraising race. See www.ottawaphysiorace.ca
The OTD connection is that Trixi, a new OTD therapy dog is the race mascot. Her owner, Chantal Batt explains that Trixi was in a car accident but greatly benefited from physiotherapy! Chantal and Trixi will be leading (walking or riding - Trixi decides!) the race. Our teams will be placed somewhere in the background, not in the midst of the 200+ runners.
We plan to gather at 8:30 a.m Sunday on the St Paul University campus at 223 Main Street (near Lees Ave), wearing full OTD regalia (scarves, collars, leads), then march en groupe for several blocks. This will promote OTD to race participants and observers and maybe win us some media coverage.
OTD Teams can meet at the Tennis Court area near the St Paul U residence at the back of the campus, near the Rideau River. There is university parking nearby.
Our dogs can be rewarded for all that good behaviour with playtime in the leash-free dog park along the Rideau River behind St Paul's – out of uniform, of course!
Please let us know if you plan to participate. RSVP to margotmontgomery@rogers.com
Look for Margot with Jazz, her black Portuguese waterdog – St Paul's is in their backyard!
