DAWG FM Highlights R.E.A.D. Program on Family Literacy Day
Tune in to DAWG FM (101.9) on January 27th at 8:45 a.m. to hear radio host Dylan Black interview Ottawa Therapy Dogs' very own R.E.A.D. team, Chantel Hutter and Lola, as part of The Dawg's Breakfast show in honour of Family Literacy Day!
Chantel founded the R.E.A.D. program in the Ottawa area under the umbrella of Ottawa Therapy Dogs in 2004. Chantel and her amazing dogs, Lola and Jake, are popular guests in schools throughout the Western Québec School Board (WQSB) as part of the R.E.A.D. program.
Later in the afternoon, you can find Chantel and Lola participating in a "read-in" at the Aylmer Mall as part of a special Family Literacy Day event with the WSQB. Click here for more details.
Family Literacy Day is a national awareness initiative created by ABC Life Literacy Canada in 1999 and held annually on January 27th to raise awareness of the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family. http://abclifeliteracy.ca/family-literacy-day
