Sponsorship Policy
Definition: A sponsorship is defined as a mutually beneficial exchange whereby the sponsor receives value in return for providing cash and/or products and services in kind to Ottawa Therapy Dogs which are ineligible for tax receipts. Sponsorships afford opportunities for participating organizations to raise their profile & enhance their image within the community. A sponsorship gives the outside organization on-going recognition through public awareness for a defined period of time while providing financial or other benefits to Ottawa Therapy Dogs.
- Ottawa Therapy Dogs will be open to and will actively seek corporate sponsorship for ongoing programs, special events and special projects.
- The goals & objectives of sponsoring organizations must be compatible with the goals, objectives, policies, and by-laws; and support Ottawa Therapy Dogs’ commitment to the community of Ottawa Therapy Dogs.
- Acceptance of all corporate sponsorships for ongoing programs will remain the decision of the Ottawa Therapy Dogs’ Board of Directors on case by case basis. The Fundraising Committee is then responsible to enact the decision.
- Special events and special projects which have sponsors must have a written sponsorship agreement signed by both parties. Sponsorships do not imply endorsement of products by Ottawa Therapy Dogs.
